Irfan started formula...

hmm... actually sedih jugak. tapi nak buat macam mana, susu drop sangat, so i have to start giving Irfan formula. i guess sebab puasa kut.

apa pun, aku tetap bersyukur sebab boleh fully breastfeed Irfan sampai 9 bulan lebih! it's really not an easy job and it needs a lot of sacrifice. i believe working mommies yang ada experience nih would agree with me. mana dengan bz kerja, terpaksa curi masa pam susu, cut short break time nak pam susu, bangun tengah malam pam susu, carik tempat strategic nak pam susu kat office (sampaikan meeting room pun jadik mangsa.hehehe)...hmmm. macam2 lagila. sounds tiring kan. but i'm happy buat semua tu! pelik kan:)

Qistina dulu memang minum Bebelac (as it was recommemded by our paed). dulu kitorang selalu beli banyak2 buat stock. sampaikan bila Qis dah 1 year, still got balance 2 tin. konon2 nak jual la, ntah camna ntah boleh lupa. since tak expire lagi, so, bolehla bagi kat Irfan. so far, Irfan ok dengan susu nih. so we will stick to this je la. hopefully, lepas puasa ni, susu mama back to normal......

Qistina's Little House....

recently Qistina suuukkkaaaa sangat main dengan blanket or apa2 kain yang panjang. if dia nampak je kain, sesape je (selalunya mama la kan, Irfan pun join sekaki) akan diajaknya masuk bawah kain tu. mama layankan jer:) this activity is like a routine already for us everynight. takpela sayang, as long as u r happy. Irfan pun bukan main suka mama tengok.

actually last time, ayah ada belikan Qistina a small tent for her birthday's present. mula2 dulu excited la mama tgk. sampaikan nak tidur kat dalam tu. but since Qistina got a new 'tent' which she has created on her own ni, macam dah dianaktirikan jer tent tu:)

we called this 'Qistina Little House'. ok ok....background semak sikitla. abaikan yer:)

aku ni memang giler kaler pink nih. dari zaman muda remaja dulu sampaila zaman yang dah tak berapa remaja lagi dah nih:)

nak2 pulak my first baby is a girl. habis semua aku beli kaler pink (which is dah tak boleh recycle untuk my second baby nih, agak membazir jugakla). giler obses. hehehe..

Entry shopping sebelum puasa..

weekend sebelum start puasa hari tu, sempatla jugak aku ngan cik abang keluar shopping baju raya untuk si kecik Qistina and Irfan. since ada sale kat Jusco, so baik la beli siap2. lagipun, time bulan puasa ni, dah sah2la malas nak keluar melainkan terpaksa.

sempat lagi tuh mama menggedik sebelum keluar...hehehe

ramai gile orang kat Jusco. i guess semua orang sibuk membeli baju raya untuk anak2 kut. actually aku ni sangat choosy bab2 membeli baju nih. baju kat anak2 pun aku pilih beriya iya. sabar je la cik abang yer. pilih punya pilih, last2 angkutla a dress and a blouse for Qis. for Irfan, aku beli short pants yang saaangat cute and a shirt. hahhhh.. itu je. after almost an hour membelek2. okeyyyyy... like i said, i'm a bit choosy:)

then jalan2 carik kasut pulak. and this time for mama pulak yer anak2. lama giler rasanya aku tak beli kasut. pusing punya pusing, masuk kedai tu masuk kedai ni, semua tak sangkut. kenapa la takde kasut yang ikut citarasa aku nih. aku pun tak tau nak kasut yang macam mana, tapi yang penting, aku mesti tangkap cintan kat kasut tu at the first sight. but not high heels of course. wedges maybe. hmmm...

then suddenly, i saw this at Vincci....

OMG! Iwant that! I want that! okla. korang nak gelak gelak la. tapi aku rasa kasut ni cute and fashionable. i loooveeeee it....

cik abang cakap tak cantik. although i've asked him i think almost 10 times. singh:) he said tak sesuai with my age. ye ker? tapi cute la. dah angkat pun satu. hehe

kasut2 anak2 tak beli lagi nih. alamat bulan puasa nih, kena la shoping lagi. baju raya aku pun tak beli lagi nih.....

Finally...

Irfan was sooo happy bila dah boleh discharge. bila orang acah pun, he can smiles and loughs as usual. Alhamdulillah. so, kelmarin aku g kerja macam biasa, sebab my mum still ada kat rumah. boleh tolong jaga Irfan sat.

next week kena bawa Irfan g hosptal, follow up. hopefully everything will be ok.

yang memeningkan aku sekarang ni, next week nak kena hantar Irfan balik ke nursery. ye la, kat nursery tu, tau2 jela, if ada yang sakit, cepat je berjangkit. aku sekarang ni, if possible tak nak Irfan kena selsema balik. sangat nightmare. paed pun dah pesan. if Irfan selsema, kena cepat2 bagi ubat. tapi tula, ubat selsema ni is not so recomended for baby. hanya Allah saja yang tau betapa risaunya aku. i have no choice. mudah-mudahan Allah melindungi anak-anak aku. kalau ikutkan hati aku, nak je hantar balik kampung minta mak jaga sat. but then, aku still breastfeeding. stock susu pun ada berapa botol je. Irfan tak nak susu formula.

time2 cenggini, rasa jeoulous pulak bila tengok mummys out there whose not working or work from home. bilala aku nak jadi macam diorang....

aku rasa ni pengaruh tv nih. tak taula mickey mouse ke, elmo ke, little einstein ke. tu semua favourite tuh. kadang terbangun pukul 2 pagi pun... 'mama, watch cartoon'.
takpe2. pengaruh tv yang baik2 takpe. sebab tula pentingnya kita filter apa yang anak kita tgk kat tv. budak2 ni cepat tangkap and suka ikut apa yang diorang tgk.

macam tadi, aku ada tgk cite 'Ceplos' kat tv9. saje je tgk, dah takde cite lain nak tgk. korang pernah tak tgk cite nih. aku pun tak tau Ceplos tu apa. tapi cite tu cite hantula. Qis tgh dok main laptop time tu. sekali tiba2 dia join aku tgk. macam biasa, ada sajala benda dia nak tanya. dia nampak je Ceplos tu, terus tanya 'mama, tu apa tu?'
alamak, apa aku nak jawab. takkan nak cakap uncle kut.
aku pun tiba2, dapat idea 'that's a magic man'. hahaha. apa punya jawapan daa...
lepas tu cepat2 aku sambung, 'tak best cite ni, kita watch cartoon k'.

moral of the story, dah ada anak tu, layanla cite yang berpekdah sikit. ingatan untuk diri sendiri. hehe..

last weekend, aku balik rumah mak aku kat alor setar sebab Friday was a public holiday here at Penang. best! sebab boleh lepak lama2 kat rumah mak aku ni, at least bolela aku rest sikit. hehe

so, as always Qistina bila nampak je mak long dia.... 'mak long! p slide nah'.

Merit and Demerit System

Last few weeks, I was assigned by my bos for a new project, which is to develop a reward system to our plant. mak ai.apa ke benda pulak la aku kena buat nih.time dia brief aku tu, aku pun as always, pretend to be cool and steady. professional la tu kunun. hehe. but deep inside me, only God knows. memang berat task nih untuk aku, sebab aku takde experience langsung pasal benda nih, totally zero. and aku jugak tak boleh benchmark mana2 plant pun kat company aku coz tak pernah dibuat orang pun kat situ.

why me? why aku yang kena buat. maybe sebab aku je satu-satunya engineer kat department aku tu kut. but is this engineer's job anyway?

okeyy...take it easy. let's take it as a challenge! think positive.

i've just completed my proposal today and i'm going to present it to my bos early next week. not sure whether she will buy off my idea, but nvm..at least i have tried my best.

the reward system is something like Merit and Demerit System. i believe u all have heard about this since it is common at school. but, hey! u know what, we can apply it at home to our kids too. it some kind of a discpiline methode too.

Basically, the system is designed to promote positive behavior to improve discipline (Merit) as well as to emphasizes consequences of misbehavior (Demerit).

I'm not going to talk much here, but u can find more infos here on how u can apply this method to your kids. I have tried a few of it and personally, i think the method is good untuk guide u how to deal with toddler......

Demam bola..

last week, i had a great conversation with my colleouge about our kids, just to share experience. since she already has 3 kids, so i would say dia lagi otai la. chit chat punya chit chat, i came to know that she's sending her kids to chinese school. wow! salute!

actually i've been thinking to send my kids to chinese kindy too, maybe when they reach 4. but to send them to chinese school,hmmmmm....kena pk banyak kali kut. coz i heard it's tough. and my friend also admit that. afraid that too much pressure pulak nanti. anyway, i still got loooooonggg time to think and ask around.

ehh..title demam bola, but then aku melalut pasal chinese school pulak. intro je tu, it just the starting point of a conversation between aku n cik abang which then lead to sth that related to bola thingy......

me : abang. tadi kan sayang cakap ngan kawan kat ofis. dia cite dia hantar anak2 dia g chinese school. macam best je

cik abang : ye ke. sekolah mana

me : dia ada cakap tadi. tapi lupa la. tapi kan, macam pressure je chinese school

cik abang : memangla. kita tak payah hantar chinese school pun takpe. hantar class mandarin je. bagus belajar mandarin nih. advantage for future (then cik abang pun bukala cite pasal economy growth semua kat china etc etc....)

me : tapi kita kena start awal la kan. rasanya umur 4 tahun ok kut. kita hantar chinese kindy dulu

cik abang : ok gak tu. eh..nanti bila Irfan 3 tahun, abang nak train dia jadik goalkeeper la

me : errkkk. goalkeeper

cik abang : haah. hari tu, sayang tgk kan. abang baling2 bola kat Irfan. cekap betul dia tangkap bola. tu baru kecik tu

me : ehhh..hehehe. ye la bang. as u wish

takpe jugak. anak lelaki kan. kenala main benda lasak2 sikit. cik abang tu nak turunkan ilmu la tu:)

wah! tgk cik abang tu. aksi hebat menangkap bola. ni zaman muda remaja dulu la

Susu naik harga!

eh! semua susu formula dah naik harga ke. Qistina minum susu ni, Step 3

dulu, susu Anmum yang 1.8 kg ni, tak sampai RM 60 pun, dalam RM 57 camtu. if offer, boleh dapat RM 52. kat carrefour selalu offer.

tapi kan, start a few weeks back, susu ni dah naik harga. melampau2 pulak tu. aku tgk kat tesco RM 67! carrefour pun sama gak. giler mahal. seb baik time tu stock ada lagi 3 tin, hasil borong kat carrefour time offer.

so tadi, kitorang g giant pulak, dengan harapan dapat murah sikit. Alhamdulillah. bolehlaaaaa... RM 59. tu pun kira offer. aku pun angkatla 2 tin.

tak taula susu lain naik tak harga. nak naik pun, man man la kan. ini sampai sepuluh ringgit naik, apa cite.

What a Surprise!

last week aku tetiba terpk nak beli camera sebab camera aku yang lama tu dah kong. terpk je ok. tak plan pun nak beli lagi. coz i got a long list of wish list which i have to give more priority. gile la. kopak mak.

tiba2 kan, rezeki datang bergolek bedebuk depan aku. Alhamdulillah. jeng jeng jeng. presenting my......

so, he bought this specially for my birthday's gift, since my birthday is coming soon. kira dah dapat dulu la nih. seriously, i did not expect this. thank u abang. i love u soooo much. eceh. jiwang pulak... u have automatically trigger my mind so start thinking for your gift pulak. and it's gonna be a tough job this time. hint please. hehehe....

by the way it's actually camera cum handphone. handphone lama aku tu ok lagi. tapi orang cakap, rezeki jangan ditolak kan. hehehe..

Veggie lovers!

All parents know that it’s crucial for vegetables to play a starring role in our child’s meals. but, it's either our child love it or scream at it when they see a glance of it in their meal. if they love it, then we are lucky la kan. the problem comes if they hate it, and we have to crack our head to think the strategy to get them on the veggie track for life. hari2 kena pk strategy untuk anak2 kan. hehehe. nvm, that's the joy of parenthood! let's cherish every single moment.

back to the veggie story, Alhamdulillah, mama tak perlu pening2, Qistina is a big fan of veggies. good girl! aku pun suka gak makan veggies ni, but i will pick only those yang tak pahit. ulam ulaman sah2 tolak tepi. qistina, i'm not sure whether she's also a picky one, but i hope not. so far, aku tgk dia suuuuuka sangat brocolli, cauliflower, carrot, sawi, bayam, potato (potato sayur ke.hehehe). tomato pun ok gak, sebab aku selalu letak dalam macaroni.

since Qis having no problem with veggies, so aku tak payah nak creative hias2 bagai. senang keja. masak sayur simple je, pun habis sepinggan Qis makan. tak caya, tgk nih.....

simple kan. senang dimasak sodap dimakan. ni Qis punya favourite nih. by the way, sebelah tu ubat batuk Qis. Qis baru je baik batuk

seb baik dulu aku selalu masak bubur kat Qis. kira bubur tu at least kena ada satu jenis sayur la. nestum or other baby food yang dalam tin2 tu memang qis tak layan punya. maybe sebab tu dia takde masalah nak makan sayur kut. so, sekarang ni, aku tgh train Irfan pulak, so far so good. good boy! hopefully both anak mama suka makan sayur ye sampai bila2.

so, korang if baby yang still kecik2 tu, mungkin boleh start train siap2. so senang keja kita di kemudian hari. hehehe. but for those yang ada problem tu, the following tips might help:

1. Set a good example - so, mak2 and ayah2 semua, jom kita makan sayur ramai2. just make a simple rule, one day at least one veggie. aku pun tgh try buat macam tu. kantoi gak kekadang. paling koman pun, if out of stock, mix veggie pun ok gak kan. goreng ngan telur ke

2. Take it easy. “Pushing your child to eat vegetables almost always backfires,” - tak payah nak paksa2. it will make it even worse, nanti terus dia tak suka langsung. if dia nak luah, biarkan aje. kadang2 qis pun ada luah2 gak. ikut mood jugak mek nih:) just keep trying everyday. bila dah lama2 nanti, dia tgk benda tu sentiasa ada dalam pinggan dia, dia pun makan jugak nanti

3. Keep it simple - hehe.. yang ni aku suka. sebab aku ni tak creative bab2 masak nih

4. Get your kids involved - try to create excitement time makan tu. like main pilih2 calour ke (veggies ni kan colourful), main teka2 nama veggies tu ke. apa2 la, yang nampak seronok for your child. this one works for Qis:)

marilah sama2 kita berusaha ye to create healthy eating habits....

mama dah risau dah if Irfan tak ok lagi, since mama ada workshop at Eastin Hotel for 2 days. takboleh nak cancel. Alhamdulillah la, the measles almost gone. takde merah2 dah macam hari tu. mama pun dengan senang hati boleh pegi ke workshop tu..

so, activity weekend ni, snap gambar je la kejanya sebab kena berkurung dalam rumah:)

Chickenpox or Measles???

it's measles!!! that's what my paed said when we met doctor yesterday. poor my little Irfan:(
i thought Irfan kena chicken pox. but he said, sort of since Measles and Chickenpox are in the same group.
after demam for a few days, naik bintik2 merah kat muka, followed by badan. seb baik bintik2 kecik je, like rashes..

Qis also kena this, but at that time, she was around 8 months already. it lasts for 3-4 days..

Chickenpox

This first appears looking like a little bug bite on your child’s belly, and is usually more annoying than harmful. Other symptoms include (in order of appearance):

•headaches
•loss of appetite
•mild fever
•itchy, fluid-filled bumps.

These may last for a week or so. Crusty scabs comprise the final stage and can last for up to two weeks before flaking off and being replaced by healthy, healed skin.

Because chickenpox is a viral infection, the use of natural immune enhancers can be used to fight it–unlike antibiotics, which have no effect against viruses. Many wholistic doctors don’t recommend the chickenpox (Varicella) vaccine, as we do not find it difficult to help children get through chickenpox without complications.

Measles

This is a highly contagious viral infection spread by respiratory secretions (e.g., coughs, runny nose). Symptoms include:

•runny nose
•eyes that redden and tear
•persistent cough
•red, bumpy rash (not itchy)
•fatigue and increasing fever
•blue-white spots on the inside of the mouth.

A case of the measles normally lasts about nine days. Complications such as respiratory tract and ear infections may occur, and in rare cases, brain inflammation and seizures. If your child develops shortness of breath, a fever over 38°C (100°F), convulsions, severe stomach pain or vomiting, seek medical help immediately.

it's been a while i didn't buy any book, even for Qis. Remember this entry? this is the last book that i've bought, which is a cloth book for Irfan..

ehhh.wait. i just bought PaMa Jun edition. is that counted:)

every weekends, always occupied, until we didn't manage to pay a visit to any bookstore. this coming weekends pulak, kena attend banyak kenduri kawen. hmmm... beli online je la kut..

as our Qis and Irfan growing up, our job as a parent gets tougher and tougher, and i think we really need a parenting book. i know i can find a lot of information on parenting in internet, but i always prefer to refer in a book. senang sikit, takde masa nak surf internet (tapi ada masa pulak tulis blog,facebooking, online shopping...hehehe)

this book is one of my top wishlist.

My breastfeeding journey....

Alhamdulillah....I've achieved my aim to fully breastfeed Irfan up to 6 months.... and still, i am until now. so, can i set my target to 1 year old? insyaAllah, semoga segalanya dipermudahkan-Nya.....

me myself hardly to believe that i can do this. thanks to SusuIbu , i really got a lot of information and tips from there. if only i found this forum even before i gave birth to my little Qis..... sebab kan, due to lack of knowledge, i've fully breastfeed Qis for only 1 month. then, i've started to mix with formula. it become worst, when i've started working, i've breastfeed only at night.

and after a year, i got pregnant again. so, i stop terus breastfeed. again, due to lack of knowledge...

apapun, aku tetap bersyukur coz still dapat breastfeed Qis although not fully. just imagine orang lain yang lagsung tak dapat breastfeed their baby. but i believe, they must have their own reason..

however, that was a history....the story change with my second child....i'm really determined this time.

Irfan, mama promise, mama will try my best to give u the best ok:)

branded toys.....

bagus sangat ke...hmmm.... as from my experience, the quality is thumbs up! tapi...yes ada tapinya... qis not so interested to play with all those. sekejap je main, then dah boring dah. she's more interested playing with stuffs yang dah sedia ada kat rumah. jimat duit mama and ayah.hehehe...but mama still dok perabis duit jugak membeli...just can't resist. lagila bila terjebak dengan online shopping nih....

the thing is, rumah pun dah macam tongkang pecah. weekend je mama sempat kemas rumah... Irfan pulak, is counting time je to join Qis.
memang maintain slim la mama macam ni...hehe...

ok, back to the toys thing, the first branded toys that mama and ayah bought for Qis is....




the Fisher Price Singing Star Gym... this gym grow with your child from infancy to toodlerhood, so it's a worth buy. qis also seems to enjoy playing with it.... tapi dah besar ni, dia dah tak main dah. irfan pulak, mama bought other gym....hmm.. ada harapan nak kena let go nih...




this Playskool Step Start Walk 'N Ride mama bought to helps Qis to stand and walk. not bad la. but attention please! don't ever leave your baby with this alone... coz agak licin la tyre dia...

this Fisher Price - Tappy the Turtle is really cute. when kid tap on those shapes with the mallet, his head pops out of his shell with a boing! then just push in the head to start again. cute kan...mama dia pulak yang over..hehe

this Cookie Shape Surprise pun cute jugak... saje beli, tinggal kat kampung. so whenever kitorang balik kampung, bolehla dia main....

adala a few lagi... masuk toys storage. actually, tak banyak pun yang branded n expensive nih. nafsu je semua tuh. kopak mak. yang murah2 takde brand lagi banyak. biasala, save budget. hehehe...since dah ada Irfan, kenala kuarkan balik. ....

Irfan turns 6 months on the Mother's Day!

and he's starting his first solid today! mama memang dah tak sabar2 nak masak nih:) so, here's the simple puree i've made for him:

not forgotten Qis meal. i've made a sardin roll for her breakfast. mama and ayah pun tumpang sekaki. hehe... it's really easy. u just need

slice bread (i prefer Gardenia)

letak sardin with the chopped onion on top of the slice bread and roll it. then, roll it again in the egg. u see, that's why it's called sardine roll.hehe. finally, goreng dengan sedikit butter. sedikit saja okey, or else nanti sangat berminyak. ok siapp!
